Terms and Conditions
§ 1 General Conditions
Our language courses are divided into teaching units. One teaching unit is 45 minutes.
For example, if you participate in one of our intensive courses that runs from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, this equates to 4 teaching units.
Our language school always strives to support students in learning the German language and to enable them to achieve their goal. However, we do not guarantee that a student will reach a specific learning level.
If lessons cannot take place due to force majeure, the participant is not entitled to a refund or make-up classes for the sessions that did not take place. No classes are held on public holidays. In this case, there is no entitlement to a make-up session or a refund for the canceled class. This applies regardless of whether the public holiday falls on a regular class day.
§ 2 Language Course Registration, Start, Duration, and Payment Conditions
Registration for our language courses can be done in writing on-site or via the online registration form.
Registering for our language courses creates a binding contract between the language school and the participant.
The language school undertakes to send the participant a course confirmation after registration.
The participant undertakes to pay the course fee within 14 days.
Installment payments are only possible by prior arrangement. This agreement must be made in writing and must include a copy of the national identity card or passport. Each installment must be paid by the end of the preceding month. If the start of the course is postponed, the right to pay in installments expires. The complete course fee will then become due by the 15th of the following month.
If the registration is made online, a distance selling contract is created upon issuance of the course confirmation in accordance with § 312c of the German Civil Code (BGB), which has the same validity as a contract concluded on the school’s premises.
The language school reserves the right to cancel the course before it begins if a minimum number of 3 participants is not reached. In this case, we will of course refund your course fee.
A certificate can be issued upon request following regular attendance. Absence from class for more than 5 days forfeits the right to the issuance of a certificate.
§ 3 Cancellation/Termination and Special Provisions:
You have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of conclusion without giving any reason. The withdrawal must be in writing and formulated clearly to state that you wish to withdraw from the contract. If the language course has already begun during the 14-day cancellation period, cancellation is no longer possible, and the full course price is due.
In cases of extraordinary termination, a cancellation fee of 50.00 euros will apply.
The withdrawal can be sent by email to the following address:
contact@yourgermancourse-nuremberg.com .
If you booked your course on the premises of the language school, there is no entitlement to a 14-day withdrawal period.
Language courses are booked for a pre-determined period or a pre-determined number of hours in the case of private or corporate courses. If the participant cannot attend pre-scheduled class dates, they have no entitlement to a replacement appointment or a partial refund of their course fee. A trial day is possible by arrangement. The participant has the right to cancel the course after attending the trial day. The cancellation must be made in writing within 24 hours after the end of the trial class and does not require any justification. If a trial day is agreed upon, the payment conditions from § 2 apply starting from the following day. If the student decides to continue classes after the trial lesson, the trial lesson is considered part of the booked course quota and is not free of charge. When booking a course quota spanning multiple months, the participant is only entitled to the trial lesson at the beginning of the first booked period in accordance with the above regulations. There is no renewed entitlement to a trial lesson for any subsequent months.
Mere absence from the course is not considered a withdrawal and does not release the student from the obligation to pay. If the student terminates the booked language course prematurely, the entire remaining course fee becomes due for payment immediately.
Postponing the course after it has started is excluded.
§ 4 Regulations for Visa Courses
Registering for our language courses creates a binding contract between the language school and the participant. The first half of the total course fee (50%) must be paid in advance. If the deposit is paid within the 14-day withdrawal period, cancellation in accordance with § 2 is no longer possible. Upon receipt of the deposit, we will issue a course confirmation for the purpose of applying for the language course at the embassy. The participant undertakes to pay the second half of the course fee after receiving the visa. If access to the blocked account is unavailable, the language school must be notified immediately, and the amount must be paid as soon as access to the blocked account is established.
Switching to a different course level is possible by arrangement. However, shortening the originally booked course duration is excluded. If the participant does not receive the visa in time for the course they registered for, the course start date can be postponed. We kindly ask for timely notification by email. If the visa application is rejected, we require an official rejection notice. This can be sent to us by email. Upon presentation of this document, we will refund the deposit paid, minus a processing fee of 100.00 euros.
Upon receipt of the course confirmation, cancellation of the course is only possible upon presentation of a rejection notice. If no rejection notice is provided, cancellation of the courses or shortening of the course duration is not possible.
§ 5 Regulations for Corporate and Private Courses
For bookings of private and corporate courses, the timing of the booked teaching units can be arranged as desired, either directly with the teacher or with the language school.
If teaching units are missed by the participant, there is no entitlement to make-up lessons or a refund of the course fee.
If the course participant cannot attend an agreed lesson date, the language school or language teacher must be notified in an appropriate form—in writing or by telephone—at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson so that the course appointment can be postponed. If the lesson is canceled by the course participant outside of the 24-hour deadline, there is no entitlement to make-up lessons. For private and corporate courses, at least two teaching units must always be booked per appointment.
§ 6 Telc Exams
Registering for our Telc exam creates a binding contract between the language school and the participant.
The language school undertakes to send the participant an exam confirmation after registration.
The participant undertakes to pay the exam fee within 14 days.
You have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of conclusion without giving any reason. The withdrawal must be in writing and formulated clearly to state that you wish to withdraw from the contract.
If the cancellation occurs after the registration deadline (15 days before the exam), a cancellation fee becomes due: If the exam is canceled before the exam date, a cancellation fee of 50.00 euros will apply.
If a participant fails to appear for the exam without a medical certificate, the paid exam fee will not be refunded. The medical certificate must be submitted no later than three calendar days after the exam date. If a participant fails to appear for the exam with a medical certificate, a cancellation fee of 50 euros applies.
