General Terms and Conditions

§ 1 General conditions

Our language courses are divided into teaching units. One lesson lasts 45 minutes.
For example, if you take part in one of our intensive courses, which lasts from 8 - 11 a.m., that is 4 teaching units.
Our language school always endeavours to support students in learning German and to enable them to achieve their goal. However, we cannot guarantee that the student will reach a certain level.
If lessons cannot take place for reasons of force majeure, the student is not entitled to a refund or to make up the lessons that did not take place.

§ 2 Registration for language courses, start and duration as well as terms of payment

Registration for our language courses can be made in writing on site or online using the registration form.
Registration for our language courses constitutes a binding contract between the language school and the participant.
The language school undertakes to send the participant a course confirmation after enrolment.
The participant undertakes to pay the course fee within 14 days.
If the enrolment is made online, the course confirmation constitutes a distance contract in accordance with § 312 c BGB (German Civil Code), which has the same validity as a contract concluded in the business premises.
The language school reserves the right to cancel the course if the minimum number of 3 participants is not reached.

§ 3 Withdrawal/cancellation and special provisions:

You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of concluding the contract without giving reasons. The cancellation must be in writing and clearly state that you wish to cancel the contract. If the language course has already started during the 14-day cancellation period, cancellation is no longer possible and the full course price is due. The cancellation can be sent by email to the following address:
contact@yourgerman-course-nuremberg.com .
If you have booked your course on the premises of the language school, you are not entitled to a 14-day cancellation period.
Language courses are booked for a predetermined period of time or for a predetermined number of hours for private or company courses. If the participant is unable to attend the pre-arranged course dates, he/she is not entitled to an alternative date or to a refund of part of the course fee. The participant has the right to cancel the course after attending the first lesson, at the beginning of the language course (trial lesson, after 45 minutes). Cancellation must be made in writing within 24 hours and no reasons need to be given. If the student decides to continue lessons after the trial lesson, the trial lesson is considered part of the booked course quota and is not free of charge.
The mere absence from the course is not to be regarded as cancellation and does not release the student from the obligation to pay. If the student cancels the booked language course prematurely, the entire outstanding course fee is due for payment immediately.

§ 4 Regulations for company and private courses

For bookings of private and company courses, the time of the booked lessons can be agreed directly with the teacher or with the language school.
If the participant fails to attend lessons, there is no entitlement to substitute lessons or a refund of the course fee.
If the course participant is unable to attend an agreed lesson, the language school or the language teacher must be informed in writing or by telephone at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson so that the course can be rescheduled. If lessons are cancelled by the course participant outside the 24-hour period, there is no entitlement to replacement lessons. For private and company courses, a minimum of two lessons must always be booked per appointment.
