General Terms and Conditions

§ 1 General terms and conditions

Our language courses are divided into teaching units. One teaching unit is 45 minutes. For example, if you participate in one of our intensive courses from 8 to 11 a.m., this corresponds to 4 teaching units. Our language school is committed to supporting students in learning German and helping them achieve their goals. However, we cannot guarantee that students will reach a specific proficiency level. If lessons cannot be held due to force majeure, the student is not entitled to a refund or rescheduling of missed lessons.

§ 2 Registration for Language Courses, Start and Duration, and Payment Terms

Registration for our language courses can be done in writing on-site or via the online registration form. By registering for our language courses, a binding contract is created between the language school and the participant. The language school commits to sending a course confirmation to the participant after registration. The participant is required to pay the course fee within 14 days. If the registration is made online, the course confirmation constitutes a distance contract in accordance with § 312 c BGB (German Civil Code), which has the same validity as a contract concluded in the business premises. The language school reserves the right to cancel the course before it begins if the minimum number of 3 participants is not reached. Naturally, in this case, we will refund the course fee. A certificate can be issued upon request after regular attendance. If you are absent from lessons for more than 5 days, the right to a certificate expires.

§ 3 Cancellation/Termination and Special Provisions

You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of concluding the contract without giving reasons. The withdrawal must be in written form and clearly state that you wish to cancel the contract. If the language course has already started during the 14-day cancellation period, cancellation is no longer possible, and the full course fee is due. The cancellation can be sent by email to the following address: contact@yourgerman-course-nuremberg.com. If you have booked your course on the premises of the language school, you are not entitled to a 14-day cancellation period. Language courses are booked for a predetermined period or for a predetermined number of hours for private or company courses. If the participant is unable to attend the scheduled course dates, they are not entitled to an alternative date or to a partial refund of the course fee. The participant has the right to cancel the course after attending the first lesson, at the start of the course (trial lesson, lasting 45 minutes). Cancellation must be submitted in writing within 24 hours and no reasons need to be given. If the student decides to continue the course after the trial lesson, the trial lesson is considered part of the booked course quota and is not free of charge. The mere absence from the course is not to be regarded as cancellation and does not release the student from the obligation to pay. If the student terminates the booked language course prematurely, the entire outstanding course fee is due for payment immediately.

§ 4 Regulations for visa courses

By registering for our language courses, a binding contract is created between the language school and the participant. The first half of the total course fee (50%) must be paid in advance. Upon receipt of the deposit, the language school commits to sending a course confirmation to the participant for the application for the language course at the embassy. The participant agrees to pay the second half of the course fee at the start of the course. If the participant does not receive the visa for the course for which they have registered in time, the course start date can be postponed. We kindly ask for timely notification via email. If the visa application is rejected, we require an official letter of rejection which can be sent to us by email. We will then refund the full deposit. After the course confirmation has been issued, cancellation of the course is only possible upon presentation of a rejection letter. If no rejection letter is provided, cancellation of the courses or shortening of the course duration is not possible.

§ 5 Regulations for company and private courses

For private and company courses, the time of the booked lessons can be arranged directly with the teacher or with the language school. If the participant fails to attend lessons, there is no entitlement to substitute lessons or a refund of the course fee. If the course participant is unable to attend a scheduled lesson, they must notify the language school or the teacher in a suitable form, either in writing or by phone, no later than 24 hours before the lesson begins so that it can be rescheduled. If lessons are cancelled by the participant outside the 24-hour notice period, there is no entitlement to a make-up lesson. For private and corporate courses, a minimum of two teaching units must be booked per session.

§ 6 Telc exam

By registering for our language courses, a binding contract is created between the language school and the participant. The language school commits to sending with a confirmation of the exam after registration. The participant is required to pay the course fee within 14 days. You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of concluding the contract without giving reasons. The withdrawal must be in written form and clearly state that you wish to cancel the contract. If the cancellation is made after the registration deadline (15 days before the exam), a cancellation fee will apply: If the exam is canceled before the exam date, a cancellation fee of EUR 50.00 will be charged. The examination fee paid will not be refunded in the event of non-attendance at the examination without a medical certificate. The medical certificate must be submitted no later than three calendar days after the exam date. In the event of non-attendance at the examination with a medical certificate, a cancellation fee of 50 euros will be charged.
